Jalaran Circuit is a stateless calculator workbench for filter design, Bode plots and unit or decibel conversion — the arithmetic between a datasheet and a design.

Who Circuit is for

For electrical engineers and students doing the small repeated calculations that sit between reading a datasheet and committing to a design, currently living in a spreadsheet nobody trusts and everybody copies.

What Circuit does

Circuit does filter design with real component values, plots Bode magnitude and phase so you can see what a filter actually does rather than trusting a cutoff number, and converts between units and decibels — a conversion that is easy and easy to get wrong in the wrong direction. It is deliberately stateless: nothing is saved, so there is nothing to organise, nothing to lose, and no stale saved calculation to mislead you six months later.

What Circuit does not do

Circuit is stateless by design, so nothing persists: no saved designs, no project history, no export of a session. It covers filter design, Bode analysis and conversions rather than general circuit analysis — it will not solve an arbitrary network, simulate transients or do anything with semiconductors. It calculates and does not design: choosing a topology is yours.

Common questions

Why does it not save anything?

Because these are quick calculations, and a saved one you half remember the assumptions for is a liability. Statelessness means nothing to organise and nothing stale to trust wrongly.

Can it analyse an arbitrary circuit?

No. It handles filter design, Bode analysis and conversions. General network analysis and transient simulation are outside its scope.

Why show phase as well as magnitude?

Because a cutoff frequency hides the behaviour around it, and phase is where a filter surprises you — particularly anywhere inside a feedback loop.
