Who Strategy is for

For consultants, founders and students doing structured strategic analysis, and for anyone who has produced a SWOT that was four lists of vague nouns. The structure is what stops that happening.

What Strategy does

Each framework is implemented with its actual structure — Porter’s Five Forces has five specific forces that mean specific things, an issue tree has to be mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive — rather than being a labelled box you type into. AI fills a first pass so you are editing rather than staring, which is a materially different task; the first pass is a prompt for thinking and not a conclusion, and the parts you disagree with are usually the most productive.

What Strategy does not do

Strategy has no data behind it — no market data, no competitor intelligence, no industry research — so the AI first pass draws on general knowledge and can be generic or out of date about a specific market. Verify anything factual. A completed framework is a structured way of thinking, not a strategy: filling in five forces does not tell you what to do about them.
