Who Translate is for
For anyone who would rather not paste unpublished research or client documents into a public translation service: Jalaran translates on its own servers and never trains a model on your text. If an agreement forbids sharing a document with any outside service, Jalaran is an outside service too.
What Translate does
Translate runs on self-hosted inference, so unpublished work does not pass through a commercial translation service on its way to being readable. It offers four domain modes because register genuinely matters: academic Indonesian and business Indonesian differ in ways a general-purpose translator flattens, and technical text needs terms left alone rather than helpfully translated. Both directions are supported.

What Translate does not do
Two languages only: English and Indonesian. This is machine translation and needs review before anything goes to a client or an examiner; it handles idiom and cultural nuance imperfectly, and a very long document is better translated in sections. It is not a certified translation service, so anything requiring legal certification needs a sworn translator.
Common questions
- Is my text sent to Google Translate or DeepL?
- No. Translation runs on Jalaran’s own hardware. That is the whole reason to use it for unpublished research or client material.
- Which languages does it support?
- English and Indonesian, in both directions. It is deliberately narrow rather than shallow across many languages.
- Can I use it for official documents?
- Not for anything needing certification. Legal and official translations require a sworn translator; this is machine translation and should be reviewed before use.
