What Bahasa does
Bahasa checks against EYD (the official spelling system) and KBBI, the standard dictionary, which are the actual authorities Indonesian formal writing is judged against. It rewrites between formal, casual and academic registers, and tightens academic prose, where Indonesian has a particular tendency toward long sentences. It is the counterpart to Edit rather than a translation of it: an English grammar tool pointed at Indonesian misses precisely the conventions that matter.

- EYD is the official Indonesian spelling system and KBBI is the standard dictionary. Together they are what formal Indonesian writing is assessed against, which is why the checks target them specifically.
- Does it work with Javanese or Sundanese?
- No. It covers standard Indonesian only. Regional languages are out of scope.
- Why not just use an English grammar tool?
